NFS 2012 Training Courses

 

The following half-day courses have been designed to equip managers and staff with the basics of dealing effectively and positively with conflict.  Training is intensive and interactive and based on situations found in the workplace or in dealing with clients/members of the public.

 

Managing Conflict/Introduction to Effective Workplace Mediation

 

Who should attend:

 

Managers and staff who may be involved in managing disagreements in the workplace. 

 

Aims and objectives of the course:

  • Recognise conflict triggers and learn how to manage disputes.

  • Introduce the skills and alternative procedures that can provide positive future- focused outcomes.

By the end of the course participants will know how to:

  • Recognise the early signs of conflict and people’s reactions.

  • Understand effective communication strategies to help diffuse conflict.

  • Turn around difficult situations.

  • Identify alternative options to deal positively with disputes.

Challenging Behaviour in the workplace

 

Who should attend: 

 

Staff who work in environments where they may encounter verbal or physically challenging behaviour.

 

Aims & Objectives of the course: 

  • Understand challenging behaviour and  factors that may cause it.

  • Learn how to manage and deal effectively with situations when  confronted with challenging behaviour.

By the end of the course participants will know how to:

  • Identify likely trigger points in clients

  • Implement coping strategies to manage a variety of challenging situations within the workplace.

Cost £75 + VAT

Introduction to dealing with confrontation/difficult people

 

Who should attend:

 

Managers, frontline staff or any staff member who have to manage clients either face to face or by telephone.

 

Aims & objectives of the course:

  • Provide an understanding of anger responses.

  • Learn and practice skills to diffuse anger.

By the end of the course participants will have an understanding of:

  • Factors that escalate hostility and aggression.

  • Tactics to diffuse anger.

  • Actions to avoid when confronted by an angry person.

  • Managing angry people effectively.

Venue: Central Southampton


NFS Mediation contracts to provide the training as described, and to include as part of this provision all course materials and assessments.  Support by e-mail is also provided at no extra cost for learners completing their learning records.

 

Cost & Booking

 

The cost for the course is exclusive of VAT. It includes all materials, and refreshments.  In order to reserve your place, please complete and return the registration/booking form below by post, fax or email. Early booking is advised, as places are strictly limited. Please note that we reserve the right to cancel the course if there is insufficient demand.

 

Self-funding


Please send a £25 non-refundable deposit with this form (making cheques payable to NFS Mediation). You will receive an invoice for the balance four weeks prior to the start of the course. Our payment terms are 14 days net. Full payment must be received prior to attending the course.

 

Funded by your organisation


An official purchase order must be provided for the full amount.  We will invoice your organisation directly four weeks prior to the course. We will be unable to accept your booking without an official purchase order.

 

Booking and Cancellation Policy


Cancellations must be received in writing by post or email. Cancellations can be accepted up to four working weeks prior to the start of the course. Your deposit will be forfeited. Cancellations made after this time will be charged in full. At the discretion of NFS Mediation, another delegate may take your place, or you may be offered the opportunity to transfer to an alternative date. Alternative course places will only be offered once and failure to take-up this offer will result in you forfeiting the full cost of the course.

 

Liability

 

The liability of NFS Mediation shall be limited to the provision of training only. In the event of the trainer’s illness, accident, or any other circumstance which prevents the company from providing the training course on the dates specified then no liability shall be accepted for any expenses thereby incurred by the purchaser.

Forms must be received no later than 2 weeks prior to commencement of the course attending.
