Congratulations Helen, Council Worker of the Year!

Southampton
City Council’s Helen Prophett has triumphed in the Leadership category of
the national Council Worker of the Year Awards 2008. This award reflects
the hard work and willingness to go the extra mile that Helen and her team
at the Central Local Housing Office have shown in their efforts to
transform the Golden Grove area of the city.
Helen and nine of her colleagues attended the gala event at the Local
Government Conference in Bournemouth earlier this week. She said: “I was
overwhelmed by the fact that we won. The event was fantastic and the
support that everybody has given me is breathtaking. I’d just like to give
my sincere thanks to everybody involved.
“This award isn’t just for me; it’s for the team I work with and for us as
a council. I feel very privileged to have been nominated and to have been
able to represent us – thank you all.”
Housing Manager Helen was nominated in recognition of her tireless work on
behalf of residents and customers of the Central Housing Office and the
estates it serves.
